Expressionist Folk-Brut Abstraction

I feel a bit guilty painting over another’s work. That doesn’t always keep me from doing it as funds and supplies can be an issue besides the actual fact that it was discarded. And I do like the idea that things we create can live on in unexpected ways. I have found my own work in a thrift-shop. It was a CD by my old band, not a one of a kind piece of art but still…Not sure how to articulate all I felt about it at the time but now I see the beauty in the being somewhat ephemeral. No one asked for that thing to be made. Who knows how they came to acquire it. It’s not my place to tell anyone what has value.

All that said, there were a couple lines and maybe a color that may have gotten me going with the initial scribble.
